Het boek biedt een overzicht van de musical in relatie tot de thema&#8217;s ras, cultuur en identiteit. Met bijdragen vanuit culturele studies, amerikanistiek en theaterwetenschap, levert het boek nieuwe perspectieven op musicalgeschiedenis en doet daarmee een oproep voor een radicale en inclusieve benadering. Door vraagtekens te zetten bij idee\u00ebn over wat musical is en voor wie, vertelt dit boek het verhaal van de musical opnieuw en geeft daarbij prioriteit aan voorheen genegeerde stemmen zodat we ons begrip van het genre opnieuw kunnen vormgeven.<\/p>\n<p><em>Reframing the Musical<\/em> bevat hoofdstukken over musicals als\u00a0<em>Hamilton<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Hair<\/em>,\u00a0<em>The Lion King <\/em>en<em> Fun Home<\/em>.
